Pettery

Pettery is a small macOS app that puts a pet in your menu bar that reacts to your Mac's battery. This policy explains what data the app and this website handle.

The short version: Pettery has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking. Your battery data never leaves your Mac.

The app

Battery information — Pettery reads your Mac's battery level and charging state locally via macOS system APIs to animate your pet. This information is processed on your Mac only and is never transmitted anywhere.

Settings and progress — your preferences, pet names, and unlocked pets are stored on your Mac in the app's local storage and are not sent to us.

Notifications — hunger warnings and the full-charge alert are generated locally on your Mac.

License activation

If you buy a pet pack or a single pet, checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. When you enter a license key in Pettery, the app contacts Lemon Squeezy's license API to activate and verify it; that request sends your license key and an instance name ("Pettery on <your Mac's name>") to Lemon Squeezy. We never receive or store your payment card details — payments are processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy under their own privacy policy. Deactivating a Mac from Settings → Manage licenses contacts the same API to free the slot.

Software updates

Pettery can check for updates using the Sparkle framework, which downloads an update feed (appcast.xml) from getpettery.app. Like any web request, this may expose your IP address to the hosting provider's standard server logs. No usage data or identifiers are included in update checks.

This website

This is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Cloudflare may process standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Buy buttons lead to Lemon Squeezy's checkout, where their privacy policy applies. If you join the launch list, your email address is stored with Cloudflare and used only to send one launch notification — never sold or shared, and you can ask us to delete it at any time via support@getpettery.app.

Support email

If you email support@getpettery.app, your message reaches our inbox via Cloudflare Email Routing. We use your email only to respond to you, and we do not sell or share it.

Your choices and rights

Because almost everything stays on your Mac, you can remove the app's local data at any time by deleting the app and its preferences. For purchase records held by Lemon Squeezy, or any privacy question, contact support@getpettery.app and we will help — including deletion requests for data we control.

Children

Pettery is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above.
